Saimin Boy's Fresh Saimin Review
Sun Noodle Brand - Old Style, Original Flavor - continued
The thing I first noticed about Sun Noodle Brand Old Style Saimin was that the noodles had a light coat of flour over them. At that moment, I realized that it had been a long time since I had seen noodles like this. The saimin I grew up eating came either dry or frozen (or to be completely honest, wasn't technically saimin, but actually ramen). I wondered if the freshness of the noodles made them taste better than had they been dry or frozen. I thought of things like breads, malasadas and andagi, and how they all tasted better when straight from the oven or pot. It should be noted that fresh noodles require refrigeration or freezing. Since I didn't know this, I spent about 5 minutes scrutinizing the shelves of a local supermarket, looking for this brand of saimin. They were in the refrigerated section, of course.
