4/6/05:  Cable TV channel m.net recently announced a list of the 10 most beautiful actresses in Korea.  The list included (in alphabetical order):  Go So Young (Memories), Han Ga In (Conditions of Love), Jun Ji Hyun (My Sassy Girl/Windstruck/Il Mare), Kim Hee Sun (Sad Love Story), Kim Tae Hee (Stairway to Heaven), Lee Young Ae (Dae Dang-geum), Moon Geun Young (Autumn Story), Son Ye Jin (Summer Scent), Song Hye Kyo (Autumn Story/All In), and Yoo Jin (Save the Last Dance for Me/Loving You).  Fans of some actresses that did not make the list are in total disbelief and are loudly voicing their disagreement with the list.  Read more about this list in a 4/6/05 Chosun Ilbo article at:  english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200504/200504060023.html.

4/5/05:
Jung Jun Ho (Goodbye My Love) has a new movie, The Twins, opening on April 15 in Korea.  In it, he plays 2 identical twin brothers with very different personalities.  Read his thoughts on the new movie in a 4/5/05 Korea Times article at: times.hankooki.com/lpage/culture/200504/kt2005040517472511680.htm.  Jung Jun Ho was also in another movie, Public Enemy 2, that opened earlier this year, in which he played a villain.  Read a 1/27/05 Yonhap News review of Public Enemy 2 at:  english.yna.co.kr/Engnews/20050127/670000000020050127120724E8.html.  On another matter, a couple of fellow addicts on the SoCal discussion boards are researching whether there is a market for a Korean drama/entertainment magazine in English.  They have contacts with the publishing world, but would like to first get some numbers and feedback from fellow addicts as to whether they'd be interested in buying such a magazine and what they'd like to see in it.  Thoughts about the magazine are posted at  com1.runboard.com/bjkdramasincalifornia.fdiscussion.t85 and korean_wave.typepad.com.  You can post your feedback at either of those sites.

4/4/05:  The Japanese news media is now referring to
Lee Young Ae (Dae Jang-geum) as the female "Yonsama" in Japan.  Lee Young Ae's popularity is also soaring in Hong Kong.  She stars in the new movie, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, which will open this summer in Korea.  This movie is the last film in Director Park Chan-wook's revenge trilogy (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Old Boy are the other 2 films in this trilogy).  Read more about Lee Young Ae and her latest movie in a 4/4/05 KBS Global article at:  english.kbs.co.kr/entertainment/news/

4/3/05:  Fellow addict JaiCe from Bellevue, WA reports that starting this month, the
International Channel became AZN TV and is now dedicated to broadcasting Asian TV programs. Hotelier (starring Bae Yong Jun, Song Yun Ah, Kim Seung Woo and Song Hae Gyo) is shown with English subtitles every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. P.D.T. with reruns at 11:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. P.D.T.  AZN TV's program schedule can be found at www.azntv.com/ic/pdfs/weekly.pdf.  The schedule is not 100% accurate for all TV shows, but the schedule time for the Korean TV show is correct.  (Thanks JaiCe for the info.)

4/1/05:
