Today we departed Andong and headed northwest to Seoul.  On the way, we stopped in Yongin to visit Everland which was a filming site for the 2003 KBS daily drama, One Million Roses, starring Kim Seung Soo, Son Tae Young, Lee Chang Hoon and Yoon Hae Young.   The Joyland amusement park in that drama was a take-off of Everland, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.  If you ever visit Korea, you've got to visit Everland.  It was one of my favorite stops on the tour.
Everland is Korea's answer to Disneyland.  If there had been more non-Asians in the crowd, I would have thought I was at Disneyland back in the States.  Even western music is played over the P.A. system.  I wish we could have stayed there the whole day instead of just an hour.

Just like Disneyland, the park is broken into sectons with different themes (such as Zoo-Topia, Global Fair, American Adventure, Magic Land and European Adverture).  Unfortunately, not all of the sections are open year round.  Flower are abundant throughout the park.  The rose garden (above left) had just been pruned so we were there too early to see blooming roses, but we did get to see blooming tulips which provided a beautiful background for our photos (above right).
