Driving southwest from Suncheon, you will reach Boseong.  The Boseong region is famous for its green tea plantations (nokcha dawon).  Nokcha (nok-cha) means green tea.  Dawon (da-won) means tea plantation.  Unlike the green tea plantations in Hadong which are grown in a natural and wild fashion, the plantations in Boseong are are very precise and manicured.  Row after row of green tea plants picturesquely wind endlessly around the hills.
The first crop of the season (called Ujon) is the best.  You can read more about green tea in an informative 4/16/04 Yonhap News article at:  english.yna.co.kr/Engnews/

The green tea plantation in Boseong was a filming site used in the 2003 KBS drama, Summer Scent, starring Song Seung Hun and Son Ye Jin.  The beautiful panoramic scenes in Summer Scent were very memorable.
Burial mounds can be found in the fields of green tea.  It was common to see burial mounds on hills in the countryside all over Korea.
