                                         Mt. Rushmore

The Soingook Theme Park was the first of several tourist attractions that I would have never imagined existed in Korea.  The concept of this miniature theme park is to allow you to see the architectural culture of the world at a glance.  Thus, by walking around this park for an hour or two, you can see miniature versions of famous landmarks from around the world, such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Taj Mahal, Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Statute of Liberty, Parthenon, Pyramid, Christ the Redeemer Statute (in Rio de Janeiro), and many more.  The photo above is that of the Mt. Rushmore miniature featuring George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
                                   Bulguk-sa

This temple, located in Gyeonju, is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. The temple is an example of the brilliance of temple architecture in the Shilla Dynasty.  The name "Bulguk" means Buddhist kingdom.  The suffix "sa" means temple.

                                    Blue House

In the U.S., the President's official residence is the White House.  In Korea, the President's residence is called the Blue House.  It got its name because of its blue roof.  It was shown in the drama, Lovers in Prague, a ficticious story that was centered around the life of the President's daughter.  When our tour was in Seoul several days later, we drove by the real Blue House.  However, the miniature version showed us more detail of the Blue House than what we could see in our quick drive-by.  The minature is 1/25th the size of the real Blue House.
